Half-Life Launcher Elite - Version 2.0.0 (Build 21) - By Paul Swonger
Thank you for choosing Half-Life Launcher Elite, the fastest way to get connected to your multiplayer Half-Life Game!
Product Description:
The main idea of Half-life Launcher Elite is to provide a quick way to connect to any multiplayer Half-life server. All you need is the address. Just type or paste the IP and hit enter.
Features:
  • Allows you to connect to any Half-Life Multiplayer game in seconds!
  • Auto Complete saves all previous servers you've connected to.
  • Support for all mods and CS retail!
  • Support for password protected servers.
  • Half-Life Launcher Elite is no-nonsense freeware!
  • Raw Command Line allows you to (theoretically) connect to other popular multiplayer games (Quake2, Quake3 etc).
  • Also due to the raw commandline, you can see what Hlle is executing and fix any problems you're having joining servers!
  • Ping feature! Why join if you already know you're going to have a 500 ping?
  • Lan game support! If there's a "Internet Game" server on your network, check "lan game" and you can join it simply using the computer name!
  • Ignore errors feature. If Hlle is giving you errors, and you know that your information is correct, check this and join without verification!
  • System Tray Feature: Checkbox added that hides Hlle when you connect! Get out of my way! I've got fragging to do!
  • System Requirements:
If you can run Half-Life, you can run Half-Life Launcher Elite.
    Progress:

    2.0.0 (Build 21) - 6/4/01
Fixed timestamp bug. Sorry about that guys. This was going to be used to check against an online databse for an auto-update feature that was canned. Forgot to remove it. Still don't know why it was causing problems though. At any rate, date code = gone.

    2.0.0 (Build 20) - 5/25/01
    Complete re-write (again).

Reworked the GUI (added borders to windows and other stuff). Menu resembles the ones found in Microsoft XP Products.

Added "Raw Commandline" feature. This enables you to edit the commandline Hlle will use directly. This allows you to control exactly what Hlle is executing and therefore (theoretically) makes Hlle compatible with other games (Quake2, Quake3 and others in theory!). Official support will not be added for these.

Added a ping feature. Why waste time joining then find out you have a 500 ping?

Added "Hide in Tray on Launch" feature. If checked this will minimize Hlle to the system tray when you connect to a server. The icon in the tray is always visible... Double click to Show/Hide.

Added "Ignore Errors" feature. With this checked, Hlle will launch with the parameters you specify, without trying to verify that they are valid. Use this if you have problems when you know your information is correct.

Added "Lan Game" feature. With this checked, you will be allowed to specify any string (text) as the server address (for instance a computer name). If this is unchecked, you must specify a valid IP address or hostname (and optionally a port). This feature will only work if the server on your lan is hosting an "Internet Game". If it's hosting a "Lan Game" you will need to join via the in game browser in Half-Life.

Side note: I've really tried hard to illiminate the possibilty of bugs in this release by adding the raw commandline feature, and the ignore errors feature. Your feedback is encouraged (support@omniformity.com).
